Welcome & Overview

There is something intoxicating about the aroma of bread baking in the oven. Don’t they say that’s how to sell a house?
In this Easy Bread Baking course, I want to take you through different styles of breadmaking.
We start with the simple – that will be the Irish soda bread and move on to the multi-seed bread, a wonderful nutritious choice.
Making your own flatbreads is so much fun and is a great a complement to any curry or with dips.
And then there is working with yeast. Here I’m covering three different styles of breads from a delicious focaccia, to a family favourite, yes, a pizza, culminating in a wonderful rich brioche.
And for fun from my own kitchen, I’ve had my own little home video of how to make my banana and chocolate chip bread
All with prep, cooking and baking information and guidelines.

  • Working with a variety of flours
  • Understanding the uses of various flours
  • Working with rising agent and why? From baking soda to yeast
  • Learning the intricates of working with yeast (see Cook with Curiosity Section for extra tips), from the role of yeast to blooming, proofing and kneading
  • Gaining confidence in the kitchen to experiment and create your own flavours to these recipes

How to get the most out of this course

Before you cook:

  1. Read the recipe and the tips
  2. Watch the video
  3. Read the supplementary information in the Cook with Curiosity – Information corner section
  4. Do your shopping list
  5. Make a note of any questions you may have in advance of making the dish and send to “ask the tutor”

Then to the cooking:

  1. Have fun, make the dish, taste as you go…. and enjoy!
